Analysis: I chose this quote from “The Rocking-Horse Winner” because as someone who comes from a middle-class Hispanic family, I learned to be satisfied and grateful for what I have. The idea of demanding more money is recognized and earned through hard work and dedication. A parent will make sure their children are taken care of before themselves.

Analysis: I chose this quote from “The Rocking-Horse Winner” because as the oldest of six, I am the mother of the group, and my siblings come to me for approbation, just like Paul comes to his mother for attention and recognition to avoid feeling invisible. Especially now, because of the Coronavirus, I’ve spent more time taking care of and disciplining my siblings. I can somewhat relate to this quote because I can tell when my siblings seek my approval and attention.
